the feed, the feed, the feed is on Fire!

My home server, it has served me well (pun intended). It served me much better when I lived with my dad and had it running on the same network. It stored my mail, my websites, my photos, my music, my faxes, etc. I've moved my mail to Google's Gmail for Hosted Domains, my photos are on Flickr, and my music both on my home computer and my ipod, and my faxes will now arrive through eFax. I don't need a home server anymore, and with my new efforts to be a little "green"er, I've decided to turn it off to save on energy.

With JonathanForPresident.com as the only site I maintain, today I moved my website off my home server and moved it to Blogger's hosting with custom domain. By doing so I get the added bonus of adding widgets, label lists, and a much smaller past articles dropdown. Each time I change the way I do my blog, the feeds on google, yahoo, etc get left behind and noone sees any updated postings. To remedy that problem, I've enlisted the help of Feedburner.com! Now when anyone adds my blog to any rss reader, they will be adding the feedburner link, which will never change. Anytime I update the location or service of my blog, I'll update feedburner and noone will be left behind. So if you havent already, delete the old reader listing and add my new feed by clicking here or by clicking on the rss feed button on the bottom of the right-nav.

Anonymous comments.

7:40 PM

I've always wondered about anonymous people leaving rude or hurtful comments about someone online. Why try to hurt someone with words anonymously? Does it make them feel better? If on a feelings-hurt scale of 0 to 10, 10 being the most hurtful, anonymous comments rank about a 1 and a half. What ranks a 10 is someone saying that with full knowledge that they are responsible for their words. Want to hurt someone? Say it to their face, take responsibility, make your opinion count, don't be a chicken shit.

I figure it comes down to character, who they are on the inside. It's pretty sad that people take cheap shots online. I would venture to say that those people are empty inside, not happy with their own life and choices, and they feel better when they try to put others down.

I see it everywhere...on message boards, comments on newspaper articles, even once and a while on my blog here. What's great about my blog is that i can just delete it, and never have it cross my mind again. What's funny is that someone takes the time to post a negative comment on my piece of crap blog, as if more than 3 people will ever read it.

So the lesson today is take responsibility for your words, they come out of your mouth, they tell us all who you really are. How about leaving supportive comments or none at all, i suggest the latter.
