Back online!

holy crap, as far as computers go, this last week has been hectic! I spent most of the day Saturday setting up the new dedicated business dsl internet at my dads house and configured the dual-internet router that allows my dad to have both dsl and cable internet, therefore allowing him 0% down time and adds a more reliable connection to the internet for my server. If dsl goes down, slack is picked up by cable, and vice versa.

[start nerd speak now] Before with TimeSuckWarner cable internet, they blocked port 80, the hidden port that all webservers use to show webpages. Because they blocked it, I had to reroute port 80 traffic to port 8080(not blocked) which screwed with a lot of different things including webmail. Now with a dedicated business dsl connection, those ports are not blocked, relieving me of all the pain of rerouting web traffic.[end nerd speak]

Now my mail is back up which should be fun considering I get like a 100 spam messages a day and I havent checked my mail in a week. Thanks in part to Cazi helping me fix the final problems. With the huge burden lifted off of me, I may start blogging more often again, I'll keep you guessing.
